Music for Seniors Album Release Concert and First Monday Lunch

May 7, 2012 is the official release date of a new album presented by FiftyForward Music for Seniors entitled, “Songs We All Love!”  The CD features a wide variety of music – from classical to western swing and everything in between! – performed by many of the talented professional musicians who perform for older adults across Middle Tennessee through the organized effort of the Music for Seniors program.

A Colorful Diet = Optimum Nutrition!

Pink, red, orange, yellow, green, purple and blue. These are not the hot fashion colors for spring, but the colors that should be represented on your plate daily.  Here are some food suggestions by color as well as some delicious and nutritious recipes.

Pink:  grapefruit, raspberries, salmon
Red:  tomatoes, steak, red potatoes, red onions, chile pepper
Orange:  oranges, mangoes, peaches
Yellow:  pineapples, lemons, honey
Green:  lettuce, edamame, mint, cucumbers, parsley
Blue:  blueberries, blue cheese
Purple:  grapes, plums
